Because of the particular way my IIH has affected me, my annual eye exam always induces anxiety in me. This year, the anxiety started in me days before the exam instead of just the day of or the day before, so I had some extra time to send myself some Reiki and do some other energy work, to reflect and meditate…and to gain some perspective.
I realized that it’s not the eye exam itself that has induced the anxiety, but that I’ve been storing some trauma. (Sometimes I wonder if I’m always going to have some little trauma from my YoSaL hanging out with me, no matter how much I try to clear it.) I did a Facebook Live a couple of hours after my exam (last Friday) to share some of those insights, and now you can watch the video, too, even if you don’t have Facebook:
Thanks again—majorly—to all of you who sent me prayers and calming energies this week. They really helped me step back a little further and really begin to realize where and how I was storing this trauma, so I could start working on it.
