The rune Othila (reversed) offers us this month’s keyword: separation—specifically from our attachment to old behaviors and old beliefs. This month is a time to look at the beliefs, particularly about structures and authority, that we carry with us—those beliefs that we have inherited as well as those that we have formed over years as protective measures. Beliefs we have inherited from previous generations may have been appropriate for those times but may no longer be appropriate for us—and the same holds true for behaviors and mind-sets that we formed in our younger lives. We may be holding on to them out of habit, or for comfort and familiarity in these uneven times. The energies of June are ripe for examination of these things, offering us the chance to examine our beliefs and activities to see if they still serve us or are actually hindering us. Perhaps it is time to modify our beliefs and actions to better suit the people we have become.
The Archangel Raphael Healing Oracle cards provide a bit more insight: Easy does it. We may feel strongly opposed to, or even panicked at, the notion of examining our traditions or beliefs, but there’s no need. We also don’t need to rush into it, just take our time and separate ourselves from our emotional attachments to tradition. Easy does it. If a belief or habit no longer serves you, you may choose to discard it or simply to adapt it to best serve you in your current situation.

Dear God and Archangel Raphael, please help me to detach from outdated modes of behavior and from outdated beliefs, those that no longer serve me. Help me to examine all of my behaviors and my traditions, my ways of being, so that I can see what actually helps me and what does not, so I may discard what no longer serves me and may keep what does serve me and others. Please help me do this so the greatest healing can occur for all of us. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.
