I suppose the title of this week’s post isn’t entirely accurate, because I don’t think the birth is complete yet, but we’re certainly past the crowning stage, at least in our home. At least we hope so.
I mean, we feel like it. This week was a gigantic push for both me and my husband in accomplishing major steps in our projects. The projects are not yet complete, but we’ve reached the crest of the major work, and now we begin the process of tidying up. I’m trying really hard to stick with the birthing theme, so I guess you can liken this stage to the baby and the birthing room being cleaned up, the baby being looked over, and Mom getting just a couple of minutes of sleep. It’s not yet time to cuddle up with and start nursing that bundle of joy, and we’re both Mom and hospital staff at this point, resting just a bit but also doing a lot of cleaning up and checking of the baby to make sure that all is in order. We’re dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. (Forgive me for mixing metaphors, but I’m exhausted, and I’m sure you’ll understand, especially if you’re a parent who remembers those first few minutes after the birth of a child or if, like my husband and I, you’ve just gone through this major push.)
We certainly don’t expect the rest of the month to be smooth sailing, but it should be better. After all, we can rejoice at least a little because at least Mercury Retrograde is over, as of Sunday the 19th (the day before I am writing this post).
So, the entire purpose of this post is to say that we think we made it through the hardest part. Well, at least of the birthing process. Just about any mom will tell you the labor and delivery were the easy parts, after all. If you haven’t yet pushed through the hardest part of labor in bringing about whatever birth is happening in your life this month, hang in there; you’re nearly there! If, like us, you have made it through the labor, congratulations!
I get the feeling that no matter what stage we’re in, we can all benefit from contemplating this tree. (I know, it may seem strange, but this is what I felt urged last night to do for this post: share an image of a tree for everyone to contemplate/reflect upon. What kind of a professional intuitive would I be if I didn’t heed those hits?)
So, hang in there, or congratulations, and enjoy contemplating this tree (or your navel, if you want to move up a level1).
