With all the uncertainty still going on in the world, and particularly in the United States, the rune Uruz tells us that August offers us a powerful opportunity to work on our own lives and move toward recovery—which will likely look different for everyone.

When we see the word “opportunity” or “recovery” in relation to oracles, it’s important to remember that this is usually an indicator of transition. (Think of the saying “When one door closes, another door opens.”) My sense of this is that we are coming back “awake” as a collective from a kind of sleepy stupor induced by stay-at-home orders and the collective fatigue and grief.

In August, those who have not yet come out of that sleepy stupor or who have slightly begun to will come more awake to our interrelatedness. This is the first, very challenging, part of recovery, when we are still weak and maybe a little disoriented and doing what we know we need to requires, in the words of Deadpool, maximum effort.

We are being called on to use our internal strength to help us deal with this potentially long and painful recovery. We can see the light of full recovery, and we can use that to keep us inspired to keep moving forward.

The Archangel Raphael Healing Oracle Cards tell us that the best way to draw on our strength and to prepare for beginning our recovery may be to get a second opinion. The first opinion may be right, but that second opinion may give you further insight regarding the first, so they inform and influence each other. The advice we receive may remind us how we can best use our strengths to move ourselves toward recovery.

Dear God and Archangel Raphael, thank you for the opportunity for recovery. Although we have been through many challenges and continue to go through challenges, please help us to recognize the opportunities present in these challenges so we may begin to improve our own lives and the lives of others. Thank you for guiding us to the people who will provide us the second opinions that we need, who will provide us the extra support and strength that we need so we can all lean against and on each other in these times. Thank you for helping us to find the light at the end of this tunnel—the light of hope—and for helping us find the strength to keep moving forward even when we backslide. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.
