In my regular morning meditation in April 2017, only a few days after I had decided to take Slade Roberson’s Automatic Intuition training, I was in a place I call the Antechamber—a place I go to prepare myself to access the Akashic Records for readings. This was part of my practice to get myself more in tune with the Akashic Records and with the particular guides who help me in accessing the Records. (Think of it like getting yourself accustomed to using a dictionary, encyclopedia, or other reference tool the first few times, flipping through the pages, seeing how the entries are arranged and how you can most effectively find the information you want.) When I arrived there, I encountered a new presence—one that was a bit overwhelming but also very, very familiar.

My Akashic Record guides and I were sitting in a circle, as usual, with the usual column of light filling the circle between us, when a giant—and I do mean giant—this was BIG energy—“dark-blue (navy) angel-like stone stepped into the circle.” When I say he was giant and like stone, I mean that he was at least fifteen feet tall and looked like a stone statue. But the stone was dark blue, and I simply knew this was an angel.

 

Here’s the rest of my journal entry written just after that encounter:

He picked me up, hugged me, then set me on his left shoulder. Metatron. I resisted [mentally], confused. Why Metatron? Why put me on his shoulder?

[In response to my confusion,] my guides told me [that] I have much knowledge, many forms & symbols to choose from, so [it’s] more likely they will use a form I have some conceptualization of than not. I tried to simply absorb this, trying to get a feel for the symbology in my mind and how they may use it. [I was also confused because I didn’t recall having symbology for Metatron. I knew his name but nothing else, and I only vaguely recalled the character played by Alan Rickman in the movie Dogma.]

On Metatron’s shoulder, I could see for miles, but it wasn’t the Antechamber [any longer]. I was confused, so [I] resisted. I was chided to stop trying to make sense of this realm with my physical brain. [Because] I was still feeling resistance, I focused on aligning myself with Metatron’s energy while sitting on his shoulder.

My guides helped me consider a time when I felt upset that a telepath was reading my mind [because] I had not given permission—[it was a time] when I [didn’t] mind “discussing” [the] issue but … didn’t yet feel ready to address the issue. It will be the same with some of my clients, [my guides] explained: The clients, though they have come to me and given my guides permission to access their [Akashic] records, … may still be resistant to open up to something I need access to, to give them the insight they need. When I come up against such a barrier—not hard and fast, but permeable and simply some resistance, reluctance—I should perform this exercise of sitting on Metatron’s shoulder and aligning with his energy.

 

That was the end of the lesson. And now, I feel the need to go learn more about Metatron, because I’m a bit confused.

I did immediately go to the only source of information about archangels available to me at the time: the internet. Here’s what I wrote in my journal as I researched:

I looked up Metatron and am once again blown away. His color (one of the colors associated with him) is actually dark green (not blue), but the rest [of what I experienced was] in character [with him]. He uses the Merkabah cube “for healing and clearing away low energies” (like fear & resistance). He is a teacher of esoteric knowledge. He is “very accessible to us all because of his dedication to teaching the practical application of esoteric wisdom.”¹

The more I learn since my attunement [to the Akashic records], the more I realize I am on my path, the best path for me.

Holy shit: “Metatron is a powerful angel who teaches people how to use their spiritual power for good while he records their choices in … the Akashic record.”²

Some [people] envision & call upon Metatron as a “pillar of light” to “rid yourself of all energies that do not serve your own higher good or the will of the Creator.”² So was he the pillar of light in my circle? Some say his cube clears the energy away by a vortex of swirling light.

 

This was my first encounter with an archangel, and as may or may not be clear from that journal entry, I was overwhelmed by a number of things. First was that I was “important” enough to be visited by an archangel. I had never really been raised with a coherent view of angels. I had read bits of information here and there about the various angel types and their functions, but I never paid it much attention. I think I’d always acknowledged that angels exist, but I always thought of them as working on a grand, high scale, not really getting involved in people’s everyday lives as so much pop culture in the ’90s said they did. And the only angels I knew of by name were Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael—and when I read of other people’s reported personal experiences with these angels, I was skeptical, to say the least. So after this day, I wondered who was I to be visited by an archangel?

The second of the things that overwhelmed me was how much of the personality I encountered, felt, and experienced matched up with other people’s reports of them. Since this first encounter with Metatron, I’ve come to realize that in those early days of regular training in use of my intuition, I tended to be visited by personalities whom I had just an inkling of, so that when I interacted with them, I’d know who they were “supposed” to be but would still be surprised when I did further research on them and learned how much my experiences matched up with others’ experiences. That was one major way that Spirit built my trust in my abilities.

Now, after much more practice and experience as a professional intuitive with actual training instead of simply blundering through, I am much more used to the energies of archangels and all those other entities I used to believe were “too high up” for “insignificant, normal me.” Now, I recognize that I had been working with Archangel Raphael for years. And I recognize that Archangel Metatron has been working on and with me for years. Especially when I thought I was below the notice or attention of angels, much less archangels.

None of us is below the attention of archangels. Not a single one of us is below the attention of a single one of them. Not a one. They truly are here to help us. Call on them for help, and they will come.
